IOM and the Blue People
In 2016 the International Organisation for Migration approached us to develop some training resources for local staff working with extremely vulnerable refugees and internally displaced people.
As the films were to be distributed in may languages, we decided on an animated approach. The characters needed to be very generic, without racial characteristics and as universal as possible. We hired Julian Frost – the brain behind “Dumb Ways to Die” – to do the character design, and the excellent Tim Drage, to do the animation.
The films have proven enormously popular within the organisation, and have been used widely within the larger “shelter” community.
Since 2016 we have made a further 9 films, with another currently in the works – and we are discussing the possibility of developing a training game for tablets, using the blue characters.
